Swaziland – short description:
Swaziland is a landlocked country that is located in Southern Africa and it is also known as Ngwane. At present, the people of the country are basically Swazis that can communicate in Bantu. The industries that are important for the economy of this country are subsistence farming, agriculture and services industry. The development of the country has been obstructed by AIDS and HIV. The country has the highest number of people with AIDS/HIV. About thirteen percent of the country’s Gross Domestic Product depends on forestry, agriculture and mining. The manufacturing industry in the country accounts for about 37% of the total GDP of Swaziland. The economy of Swaziland is associated with the economy of South Africa because it sends more than half of its exports there and obtains more than 90% of the imports from South Africa.
Christianity is considered to be the chief religion in Swaziland because more than 4/5th of the people are Christians. Some people also practice other religions like Hinduism and Islam. The main language of the people of Swaziland is Swazi, which is a Bantu language. The language in taught in schools and about 2.5 million people in the country can speak in this language. Another language that is also spoken in the country is Zulu. Some people can also speak in Tsonga.
