Togo – short description:
Togo is a nation that is also referred to as the Togolese Republic and it lies in the West Africa. On the north of the country there is Burkina Faso, on its east there is Benin and on its west there is Ghana. On the south of Togo there is the Gulf of Guinea. The size of the country is about 57,000 square kilometers and it has about 6,100,000 individuals living on its land. Lome is the capital city of Togo and this city is located on the south of the country. The economy of Togo is highly dependent on agriculture.
Basically, Togo is a small African country that has a tropical climate and its average temperature ranges from 24° to 30°. In terms of population, the Togolese Republic is considered to be the 107th largest nation in the world. About 2/3rd of the Togolese live in the villages and most of these villagers concentrate on pasture or agriculture. The country has about forty different kinds of ethnic groups and of all the ethnic groups; the Ewe group is the largest in Togo. The people in the country are followers of different religions and the two main religions in Togo are Christianity and Islam.
